A Doll's Eyes

Author: Aurorita248
Rated: T
Warnings: Slight slash, paranoia about dolls
Summary: After Julia Lennon's death, John has become withdrawn and isolated. To keep him company, a mysterious toymaker delivers a doll to him. Unfortunately, the doll slowly progresses into believing that it is human, and wants nothing more than to keep John for himself.
Notes: This story is inspired by 'Really You', an episode in RL Stine's "The Haunting Hour". I am just making this story for entertainment.

Prologue-7/15/58

John Winston Lennon was crying. A Teddy Boy like him was never supposed to show such a girly emotion as sadness, but who cared about those damn morals?!

His mother was dead. She died by a drunken officer in a car crashing into her. She was dead, and she was never coming back.

What did he do? What did he do to deserve such a cruel twist of fate? Did God forsake him? Did some evil being want him to be in misery for their own amusement? Why did she have to die?!

John sobbed and sobbed and sobbed. He was all alone in the house, alone....

It was awful. How he wished that he had someone to talk to about this. Unfortunately, his mouth felt like it was glued shut whenever he tried to speak.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. John looked up, wiping a tear from his eye. Who could he be here at this time?

Standing up, John approached the door. He still looked rugged with his black jacket, leather pants and boots, but the red and puffy eyes contrasted with his fashion.

John opened the door and poked his head out. No one was there at all.

"Hello?" He asked. "Is anyone out there?"

John looked left and right, but no one left or was coming toward him. He looked down and saw a card on the doormat. Picking it up, it showed a beautiful porcelain doll with blonde hair dressed in a white lacey dress. He flipped it around, finding a message scrawled on it.

"'Are you feeling lonely?'" John read. "'If you are, please order a special companion for your own. Custom made, free of charge. The only payment we need is the satisfaction that we made you smile. Please go to this address if you want to know more.'"

John stared at the card for a while. Who delivered him this card, and for what purpose? Was this some sort of joke? No, it couldn't be...it felt real.

He would only figure it out if he went to the address. Taking the key from underneath the doormat, John locked the door and decided to head toward the destination.
I got inspired by RL Stine's 'The Haunted Hour' watching an episode from 10 PM to 11 PM. I was freaked out and it inspired me to do this story. Trust me, this one will be fun.

Next time, "Chapter 1-The Doll Selection". Don't miss it!
